In his research, he has been dealing with urban greenery and its vegetation for 25 years. He conducts interdisciplinary work in which he combines research on the biodiversity of urban greenery, residents' preferences and with his team performs innovative research on the calculation of ecosystem services. He conducts projects and implementation works related to the management of urban ecosystems. Author or co-author of several research grants and nearly one hundred scientific publications. Including books - Applied phytosociology (2014; Warsaw University of Life Sciences), Impact of naturalization of a city park on floristic diversity of undergrowth and park lawns (2013; Village of Tomorrow), Polish plant communities - Forests and scrubs (2012; PWN) and Atlas of sedges with keys for species identification (2018; Multico). Contractor of over two hundred inventories, implementation projects related to greenery and expert opinions. Together with a team, he worked out a database of rare species in Warsaw and on this basis he designated biodiversity refuges as a planning unit, which will allow to protect 40% of the most valuable sites in the city. Co-author of the first ecological park in Warsaw. Together with the Sędzimir Foundation, he developed standards for the care of water reservoirs, taking into account the need to protect their biodiversity.
Dr Victor Beumer obtained his PhD in landscape ecology in 2008. Between 2008 and 2018 he has been working for the Dutch knowledge institute Deltares on urban climate adaptation and nature-based solutions. In 2018 he started his own company working on biodiversity and climate adaptation in the built environment. Currently he is associated specialist Environment for GIB foundation in Switzerland, senior consultant Ecology for the engineering firm Aveco de Bondt in the Netherlands and senior research lead Climate-proof Cities for Earthwatch Europe in the UK. For Earthwatch Victor initiated the UK Tiny Forest programme in 2020 which exists of 148 Tiny Forests across the UK at-present. Tiny Forests are small urban woodlands planted according the Miyawaki method resulting in fast-growing, native woodlands. The local communities are involved through an engagement programme that consists of facilitated citizen science events to monitor the growth and development as well as biodiversity and climate adaptation.

From June 2022 she is CEO in Stowarzyszenie Architektury Krajobrazu – Association of Landscape Architecture Poland (ALA Poland).

Since 2018, he has been the President of the Polish Dendrological Society. The topics of scientific and research works include the following issues: diagnosis of the dendroflora state of Western Pomerania, biology and acclimatization of woody plants in the conditions of Western Pomerania, design and management of green areas, techniques and technologies used in green areas and in tree diagnostics, biological and biotechnical features and reproduction of woody plants. Author and co-author of a total of over 450 scientific and popular science publications, books, expert, arborist, industry studies, implementation and educational projects, as well as numerous court opinions and green areas projects (including historic assumptions and dendrological gardens). Co-author of the study entitled "Guidelines for the national system for the protection of green areas and trees" and the manager of teams developing standards for the maintenance, protection and development of green areas in Szczecin, Stargard and Police. Coordinator of the implementation works of the emerging facilities in terms of environmental, ecological and educational requirements.
